Love is God's Chief Attribute by Marel C. Porter

"If God were all powerful, omnipresent, omniscient, eternal, yet lacked that characteristic quality, love, what would God mean to you or to me? What if God had no concern, no compassion for his creation? Many people are by their actions saying that they believe this to be true. Yet God is love. That is his chief attribute."
Marel C. Porter (November 12, 1914)

God is Good by David Yonggi Cho

“This God who loves us with His great breadth and depth of love is really a good God. Whenever we say God is good, the devil feels pain, but glory is given to God. Today, in so many pulpits, God is misrepresented. Some ministers only present Him as a God who is waiting for sinners to make a mistake so He can judge them with stern and fearful punishment.”
Salvation, Health & Prosperity: Our Threefold Blessings in Christ, p. 15
By David Yonggi Cho (1936-2021)

SIN BRINGS ITS OWN PUNISHMENT

SIN BRINGS ITS OWN PUNISHMENT

While the English Bible in some places, represents God as directly (by His own power) personally punishing people for their sins, it would benefit us to study the Bible as a whole and see HOW He is said to do such.

God establish the law of sowing and reaping (Galatians 6:7-8). Every law of God was intended for our benefit but sin came in and turn these laws to our destruction when they are not used for their intended purposes.

The same laws of electricity that provide us with light and entertainment can kill us when used in the wrong way. The laws of sowing and reaping can bring great blessings when used as God intended and can destroy us when the seeds of sin are sown.

God directly punishes no one, but when we persist in sin and refuse to repent, He will allow us to have the harvest we have sown for ourselves. It is sin, not God, that destroys us. How do we keep from destruction? Simple, stop sinning. Jesus gives us the power to be free from sin (John 8:32-36).
