Did God Predestine Judas to Betray Christ? (Part 2) - Youtube

In several places in Scripture we find the statement, "that it might be fulfilled" concerning Judas' actions. Most people have read into this the idea that Judas was predestined to betray Christ or that the future was so fixed that it was inevitable that this betrayal would occur. In this video, we look at these statements and we discover that they do not teach what many people believe that they do.

Was Judas Predestined to Betray Christ? (Meme #2)

In some of my discussions/debates over Judas the traitor, some have told me that it was absolutely necessary that someone betray Christ. Some believe that Judas was made for the role. I beg to differ on this idea and believe that it is derived from a gross misinterpretation of Scripture. God does not predestination bad futures (Jer. 29:11).

Romans 8:28 - Interpreting Scripture with Scripture

Calvinists focus on the part of Romans 8:28 that says "all things" and develop the false and erroneous premise that "all things" that occur in life come by God's decree and plan. Hence their motto, "God is in control". Yet, Peter qualifies the "all things" and limit them to God's positive promises. Scripture interpreting Scripture always disproves Calvinist error.

Does God Send Bad Things to Work Towards our Good? - Martin Luther

Even reformers such as Martin Luther (who also taught "total depravity") do not accept the Calvinistic interpretation of Romans 8:28. Thank you Luther for interpreting this passage properly.

Does God Send Bad Things to Work Towards our Good?

Calvinists use Romans 8:28 to teach the false idea that everything that happens to a person was decreed by God for some mysterious good. However, this is not the teaching of this passage. The passage is teaching that God helps us as we partner with Him.
