Every Time Someone Dies, God Gets the Blame

Only a few days ago  the 38 year old father of some very young children that attend our church died from a terrible sickness. A minister remarked that this "was the will of God."
After visiting the family to comfort them I came home, went to social media and discovered that a major celebrity, his daughter and several others died in an accident. The major celebrity was also very young and left a wife and children. A young wife also died in that accident leaving a husband and young children without a mother.

Some of the remarks I read on social media stemmed from "You never know when God will call you home" and "you never know when it is your time to go." All of these imply that God had a hand in the death of these people.

What a horrible picture of God we have painted--One who kills by debilitating sicknesses and tragic accidents and leaves children to grow up without the guidance of their parents. Is this the God of our Lord Jesus Christ?

God is NOT the author of death. Men and Satan are fully responsible for death coming into our world (Rom. 5:12; Heb. 2:14-15). Let us be careful about blaming God for things He did not do. It brings no comfort to anyone and it causes most people to hate God.
