Psalm 91 Protection Promises by A. B. Simpson

“He promises to protect us from physical ills. This undoubtedly denotes disease of every kind, for here the severest of all forms is mentioned—“the deadly pestilence” (Psalm 91:3). And if we are promised exemption from this, it includes all lesser forms. This must, of course, be preceeded by the other promise. We must be saved first from spiritual evil. But if we are, we shall be kept from physical evil.”

Simpson, Albert B. The Christ in the Bible Commentary (Vol. 3) (Camp Hill, PA: Christian Publications, 1993), p. 235
