Robert Young: Does God Afflict People with Leprosy?
When ye be come into the land of
Canaan, which I give to you for a possession, and I put the plague of
leprosy in a house of the land of your possession.
(Leviticus 14:34)
Commentary:
“I HAVE PUT.] lit. ‘given.’ Some have
supposed this to indicate that the leprosy in this case was a direct divine
infliction; but in Scripture language what God permits he is said to do.”
